C going up the list, actually top of the list

What is C's rise to the top (again) have got to do with me? I mean, I'm using C# in the .NET package, and also VB and ASP. And though I wanted to delve into Java, I've not gone close enough, or even near, to be considered an intermediate-, or even a beginner-level at that.

But for those of you out there who are into Java and C programming languages, I think this news matters. It may be actually dictating the trend (and future employability) of software developers in this arena.

The scores for C have been pretty constant through the years, varying between the 15% and 20% market share for almost 10 years. So the main reason for C's number 1 position is not C's uprise, but the decline of its competitor Java. Java has a long-term downward trend. It is losing ground to other languages running on the JVM. I got into blogging when a choir member introduced me his, and persuaded me to create and keep mine. "An alter-ego," he said. That was 2006. It's been a long time since, and I've gone through a lot of reading and writing, and many other sort of things that a blogger usually does (or is it only me?)

One of the things that I learned is that with blogging comes adsense, or in websites there are ads. These usually bring in some money, big or small, through what is called click-ads. I learned that in a few books, but specifically in Eric Giguere's Make Easy Money With Google, who happens to also have created a web site using the books initials, so that is www.memwg.com.

After I finished reading the book, I subscribed, and I've been receiving posts and articles that help me get informed and updated on anything and everything (is it really everything? well, almost...) about blogging.

Now, Eric is celebrating his 5th year on Make Easy Money With Google, and he has some nifty things to offer. One of these is Find Me A Domain program. It helps most when you are thinking of creating a new website, and you want to check which of these possible domain names are still available, and which are already taken.

I have been blogging since 2006, I remember, and have posted a thousand articles, news items, health breakthroughs, issues and current affairs, monitored the H1N1 pandemic, heralded the return of comic characters in the TV, broadcasted upcoming films, and a million other things, and so far, I have not done a really good job in my blogging.

Anyway, help is on the way.

And I didn't even know it.

I have been subscribed to Problogger for quite some time, and I was just simply going through the articles whenever they arrived in my Inbox, not really taking things discussed there seriously. Until...

I thought that as my blog, while personal, is no longer private, as I've had some subscribers to two of my blogs, I woke up and realized that I had to make my blogging better. I cannot give junk and trash to other people, but I have to make someone's day, and, if ever it will happen, help them.

And as I said, that help is on the way, it really was. And was I simply paying attention, or what, I saw that 31DBBB was offered, from $39, to something like $19.95 or so, a price half of the original.

I've been seeing that ads at the bottom of the subscription mail sent everytime, but I thought to myself, another one of those...

I changed my mind, at the point when I saw the author's story, how he, just like me, years ago was not doing full time blogging. hey, I'm still not doing full time blogging now, I even sneak in some time in the office when it is just a slack time, so I can quickly type in some articles, just like this one. but "if he can, why can't I?", I thought to myself.

I'm really looking forward to doing some work (at home, if possible) where I can have my time to my self and not having to wake up early and rush to work, but will be doing what I really like best, and at the same time, help people while helping myself.

I've learned from one of my teachers back in my college days: browse through a book when reading. I did jsut that with 31 Days to Building a Better Blog, and what I found satisfied me: share to others what you learn from this book, in that one of the exercises mandates a 'search for a kindred blog, with the purpose of helping the author'.

Now isn't that something just plain unselfish in this days of "mine, mine, mine; me, me, me"?

Until when is Windows XP 'alive'?

I said that I may have ended my brief romance with Windows 7, and one of my options is to go back to Windows XP...

That may not be a long affair either...

I've been asking this question, and have been hearing about it as well. Finally, I've found one webpage that tells of the other details, I mean, I haven't known it until now, in print. So here goes:

Acoustica's Mixcraft

I have downloaded the software, and am currently evaluating it now.

I haven't tried working on GarageBand, and as I have mentioned, I am currently a PC user, and the primary reason for me to switch to using Mac is their music package that is bundled with the Mac unit: GarageBand, CuBase, etc.

Well, if I can figure Mixcraft properly, I may not make the move anymore. since I would have to be using my laptop for coding purposes, which is my primary livelihood.

Music is my main hobby, and it would be costly to buy a Mac just for my hobby. Of course, there are other hobbies that are more costly, and the expenses would be continual, like golf, which is just every time you go on a golf-ing spree, you spend. Buying a Mac is a one-time deal, and there may not be upgrades necessary later on.

Anyway, I will again post the update on my evaluation. There is a video tutorial, and the other part I am trying to do is to hook up my MIDI keyboard so I can do live performance, or controlled editing.... whatever.
